Some portions of the Earth's surface are not visible due to insufficient illumination, gaps in orbital coverage, or transmission errors. The images are downloaded from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's MODIS Rapid Response System. Satellite orbital data is downloaded from the Dundee Satellite Receiving Station.
